POLIO FACTS
04
We've reduced cases by 99.9% since 1988.
05
Until we end polio forever, every child is at risk.
IF POLIO REBOUNDS, OVER
200,000 CHILDREN A YEAR
COULD BE PARALYSED WITHIN
A DECADE
For the past 30 years, Rotary has been working to eradicate polio. Our goal of finally having a polio-free world is within sight. We began our journey in 1979 providing vaccines to 6 million children in the Philippines. Now, we're down to 3 countries worldwide: Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria.

Rotarians have been instrumental in inching the world closer to polio eradication. Their efforts has not only ended polio in 122 countries but also created a system for tackling various other health priorities such as Ebola.
